St. Paul’s School is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time position of Assistant Controller within our Business Office. The Assistant Controller will assist the Controller in various financial functions including investment accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, projections, statistical reporting, and budgeting. The Assistant Controller must possess a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Primary responsibilities will include day to day accounting for the School’s sizable investment portfolio and accurate maintenance of general ledge accounts.
Detailed duties will include:
Monthly reconciliation of investment accounts;
Posting of monthly general ledger entries;
Maintain monthly cashflow projections;
Preparing monthly investment reports for senior management;
Up-to-date reporting for all alternative investments;
Assist the Controller in producing accurate and timely financial statements, internal financial reporting, and other recurring reporting as requested by the management team;
Manage accounting staff.
This position requires the following qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of five (5) years relevant accounting experience; public accounting experience required
Education or non-profit industry experience
Supervisory experience required.
Minimum of two years fund accounting experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with Blackbaud software preferred.
Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills with the ability to prioritize projects efficiently
