Accounting Leadership Opportunity at Care New England!
Primary Function:
Responsible for assisting the Executive Vice President CFO with development, interpretation, coordination and administration for the Care New England policies on finance, accounting, internal controls, maintenance of financial records for related organizations and assist with directing the operation of additional departments as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leader of the Accounting Division of Care New England Finance, which consists of General Accounting, Sponsored Programs and Research Administration, Accounts Payable and Payroll.
Provides oversight to the following departments, to include change management, policies and procedures, integrations to gain efficiencies, enhance information systems and provide training and education.

Assist in planning, organizing and controlling financial policies for Care New England to control the receipt of revenues, expenditure of funds and conservation of corporate assets.
Assist with the planning, coordinating and preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reports, and year end audits.
Responsible for internal and external financial reporting of Care New England.
Review, interpret, analyze and communicate financial reports to executives, managers and the Board.
Coordinates all aspects of external audits by public accounting firm.
Responsible for providing guidance and working cross-functionally with the Human Resources department including, but not limited to, change initiatives, collective bargaining agreements, and HR/PR information systems.
Member of Care new England executive Finance Group and works closely with other leaders in Strategic Financial Planning, Reimbursement, and Revenue Cycle to meet goals of Care New England Finance.
Maintain records, statistics and procedures that will accurately reflect the position of Care New England and its’ related entities, and protect all assets and interest related to the Corporation.
Participates in various financial and operational projects.
Requirements:
Strong leadership skills and ability. Highly evolved persuasion and problem solving skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills, along with strong planning and organizational skills.
In depth knowledge of accounting and finance, including healthcare experience and the current environment in the healthcare industry.
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and CPA required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of ten years job related experience or equivalent required.
Care New England is a non-profit health system, comprising several hospitals in Rhode Island. Founding members Butler Hospital, Kent Hospital, and Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island formed CNE in February 1996.
