Fiduciary Trust Company is seeking a Senior Financial Planner to work as a member of the Financial Planning Team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience providing financial planning advice to affluent clients with complex financial profiles.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Deliver customized financial plans to clients.
Assist in the supervision and training of Financial Planners.
Manage Financial Planning department workflow including project tracking, project assignment to Financial Planners for preparation, monitoring progress on assigned plans, etc.
Act as gate keeper on information gathering.
Work with Financial Planners on plan design and presentation.
Work with Director of Financial Planning to ensure consistent client experience.
Work with Director of Financial Planning on content of department meetings.
Review financial plans prepared by Financial Planners.
Prepare financial plans as appropriate, including in-depth analysis of client goals and designing scenarios for presentation.
Update planning software with FTC view of capital market assumptions and standard deviations as developed by Chief Investment Officer.
Assist in Family Office workflow.
Respond to Officer inquiries.
Assist in the training of Officers on financial planning topics.
Assist with the ongoing evaluation of external software and updating of internal tools.
Participate in prospect client meetings as requested (either in person or by providing materials).
Author thought leadership for client distribution.
CFP designation or CPA required. JD, MBA or other advanced credential a plus
Extensive experience (i.e., 7 years or more)
Deep understanding of goals based planning along with all facets of planning (retirement, tax, education, insurance, estate, philanthropy)
Demonstrated ability in work flow management.
Experience in supervising and mentoring planning staff.
Proficiency in MoneyGuidePro, Excel, NumberCruncher, Visio, and other financial planning related software.
Superior attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent analytical, quantitative, organizational/management, and communication (oral and written) skills.
Strong interpersonal skills. Energetic and collaborative working style. Enthusiasm for delivering client-centric, tailored financial plans with ability to “read” clients to optimize communication. Proven listener.
Positive attitude. Flexible thinker.
Experience in analyzing and understanding trust terms a plus.
