Responsible for general accounting and financial controls in compliance with accounting standards and company policies, driving process simplification and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis.
' Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities ' Prepare and/or review account reconciliations, monitor reconciliation process, and prepare account reconciliation metrics ' Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory statements, footnotes, and schedules ' Review financial statements and research/resolve unexpected variances ' Complete data requests, financial reviews to Corporate, implementing company initiatives ' Remain current on US GAAP, Statutory and international accounting standards ' Ensure accounting tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies and suitable internal controls ' Review accounting processes and activities, develop appropriate process improvements and monitor required changes for effectiveness ' Interact with auditors and regulators as required, compile support information
' B.S. in Accounting/Finance required, CPA or MBA considered a plus ' 5-7 years of accounting/audit experience; Insurance industry experience considered a plus ' Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures; GE controllership experience considered a plus ' Familiarity with US Statutory, GAAP and International Accounting Standards ' Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks ' Excellent analytical skills, take ownership of assignments ' Ability to identify and implement process improvements
