Homeowner's Rehab, Inc is a non profit organization offering a variety of affordable housing and community development programs for our residents. In existence since 1972, our mission is to provide safe, sustainable and decent housing for individuals and families. We have grown to the point where we now operate over 1,300 units of housing in 11 partnerships and 2 non profit real estate affiliates. Since 1988, we have also been aligned with another 501C-3, Cambridge Neighborhood Apartment Housing Services, Inc., to develop affordable housing, to offer foreclosure prevention services, loan program to low income homeowners and comprehensive resident service programs. We are looking to replace our retiring Senior Accountant, by upgrading the roles and responsibilities and changing the title to Controller.
Bachelors in Accounting required, MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience would be preferable.
Knowledge of Uniform Guidance and Low Income Housing Tax Credits.
Experience with the preparation and completion of annual audits, cost certifications, including working with the Management Company and the Auditors to complete the process in a timely manner.
Extensive knowledge of accounting for both non-profits, as well as for for-profits and partnerships is critical.
Detail oriented, with excellent oral and written skills.

Our mission is to acquire, improve thru rehabilitation, new construction or otherwise make available at the lowest possible cost to persons and families of low and moderate incomes of every race, religion and nationality, safe, decent and affordable housing in Massachusetts. In addition we strive to stimulate the renovation and improvement of properties and to promote neighborhood improvements for the benefit of people of limited means.
