As the firm’s tax manager, you will serve in a support role to multiple client relationship managers who are responsible for maintaining and growing long-term client relationships as well as ensuring our clients stay in compliance with their income tax filings. Working in conjunction with the relationship managers, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
Prepare and review federal and state income taxes for individuals, trusts, foundations and small partnerships.
Prepare and review quarterly income tax projections.
Prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS, Treasury Department or state agencies.
Provide tax updates and training to the firm.
Assist with research projects related to client tax issues.
Oversee tax software, training, and rollout to staff.
Write three to four tax-related articles for distribution to clients each year.
Assist with ad hoc client requests.
Our ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
6+ years prior experience in public accounting tax experience.
Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus).
Experience preparing individual, trust, foundation and partnership tax returns.
Strong accounting and analytical skills.
Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software (ProFX and BNA preferred), Excel, Word.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented & ability to multi-task.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work independently.
Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
Possess excellent listening skills.
Possess a positive, “can-do” attitude at all times.
Ability to accept and incorporate constructive feedback.
Perform role with the highest ethical standards and adheres to firm/industry compliance and regulatory rules/regulations at all times.
