Are you seeking an opportunity to take your Accounting career to the next level, managing a growing team in a fast-paced mission driven company? As Accounting Manager, you will join the Accounting team reporting directly to the Controller. You will be primarily responsible for managing the company’s monthly close process and preparation of financial statements. In addition, you will assist with audits and preparing tax schedules for our tax consultants to prepare annual filings and quarterly estimates. You will have an existing team of one direct report and will have the opportunity to further build that team out as time progresses.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
Owning the monthly close process including preparation and review of the consolidated financial statements and detailed account reconciliations.
Managing compliance and covenant requirements under lender debt arrangements.
Analyzing financial statements, monitoring working capital needs, and assisting with audit related matters.
Identifying process improvement opportunities and leading process improvement efforts to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
Assisting in the preparation of income tax work papers to support income tax filings and quarterly estimates.
Tracking state filing requirements and new state registrations.
Day-to-day management of Staff Accountant; actively working to promote and recognize performance and keeping up to date on the team's overall activities.
Creating and maintaining group policies and procedures.
Performing ad-hoc financial analysis.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus.
5-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Some previous managerial or supervisory experience preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus, but not required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
