DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
Kingsley Montessori School seeks a Accounting and Benefits Manager. The role encompasses comprehensive accounting and benefits management responsibilities. Key duties include managing the Accounts Payable cycle, reconciling bank statements, assisting with Accounts Receivable, and preparing annual forms. Additionally, the position involves enrolling new employees in benefit plans, managing reimbursements, liaising with benefit providers, and supporting HR with personnel records
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Accounting:
Manage Accounts Payable cycle and expense coding.
Monthly reconciliation of all bank statements
General Ledger reconciliation: AP, credit cards, other accounts as needed
Assist with Accounts Receivable
Prepare and file Forms 1099 annually
Assist with annual audit
Cash disbursement journals, accruals, prepaids, other tasks and reports needed by third party auditors
Benefits Management:
Enroll new employees in benefit products and plans
Lead new employee onboarding including performing background checks
Manage parking and MBTA accounts
Manage employee reimbursements
Mange benefits changes for current employees
Liaison with benefit providers including health insurance provider
Manage Flexible Spending Account program
Manage COBRA
Assist Human Resources with personnel records and legal compliance as needed
Support the CFOO with operational tasks and projects as needed
Perform a weekly general school duty as expected for all faculty and staff
QUALIFICATIONS OF PREFERRED CANDIDATES:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or at least two years of accounting work experience is required
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar accounting software.
Experience in not-for-profit accounting
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience with accounts reconciliation and report preparation.
Ability to work cooperatively with students, peers, coworkers, and supervisors
