The Student Account Representative serves as the primary contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and other involved parties concerning all related activities regarding Student Accounts. This position provides the highest level of customer service (via in person, phone, and electronic communications) regarding financial status with the University
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1) Student and Parent Customer Service:
Through appointments, e-mail, written correspondence, and telephone communications, explain line item and summary of student account credits/debits and NU billing procedures.
Assists with customer service to over 150,000 contacts.
Responsible for providing customer service in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies for over 7,000 separate federal and state regulations.
2) Student Account Management:
Counsel and advise students and parents on student account policies, payment processing, and financing options.
Research and provide account conflict resolutions with Financial Aid, Registrar, Housing, Academic Departments, etc.
3) Events and Other duties as assigned:
Represent Student Accounts at Open Houses, orientations, workshops, recruitment, and advising programs.
Process student account payments from students, scholarship organizations or 529 savings plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Customer service experience required. Strong communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student and parent population.
Banner experience preferred.
Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of a High School Diploma; Associates Degree preferred.
One year of experience in a higher education student accounts/bursar office or related field desired.
